Safeguarding

Nothing we do matters more than this. Every child at Daffodil has the right to feel safe, be safe, and know exactly which adult to talk to if something is wrong.

Our Commitment

We follow Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE), the statutory safeguarding guidance for all schools in England. In practice that means safeguarding is everyone's job here: all staff are trained to recognise concerns and know how to report them, and the wellbeing of the child comes before every other consideration.

At our most recent inspection (September 2025), safeguarding was judged effective. You can read that inspection in full on our Inspections & Standards page.

Who to Contact

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL, the senior member of staff responsible for child protection) is Stephen Montford, the headteacher.

Phone: 020 4539 9737 (ask for the headteacher; office hours are 8.00am–4.00pm, Monday to Friday)

If You Have a Concern

  • Parents and carers: contact the DSL directly using the details above. You do not need to be certain something is wrong. If you are worried, tell us, and we will take it from there.
  • Children: you can talk to any adult in school you trust. They will listen, take you seriously, and know what to do next.
  • Anyone else (neighbours, visitors, professionals): the same route applies. Contact the DSL.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, call 999.

Safer Recruitment

We recruit carefully because the adults are the safeguard. All staff complete enhanced DBS checks (Disclosure and Barring Service, the national criminal-records check) and safer-recruitment vetting, including references, before they begin work with children, in line with KCSIE. See also our team and careers.

Ask Us About It in Person

Safeguarding questions are exactly the kind we want you to bring on a visit. Ask the headteacher, who is also the DSL, directly. He hosts every visit.

Or call 020 4539 9737. Prefer to write first? Ask us anything through our enquiry form. We reply within 24 hours.
