Assalamu alaikum,

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had a purposeful and creative week at Daffodil Prep! Here’s a peek at what our curious learners have been up to:

🐝 Year 1 – Times Tables, Coins & Creative Poetry

Our Year 1 children have started their journey on Times Tables Rockstars this week – and they’re loving it! 🎸 They’ve shown great enthusiasm in developing their times tables knowledge. In Maths, they’ve been working with 5p and 10p coins and are becoming more confident in adding different combinations. In English, we’ve had fun diving into alliteration poetry, experimenting with playful sounds and silly sentences ✍💰🎶.

📝 Year 2/3 – Growing in Gratitude

Our Year 2/3 students have been reflecting on all the things they’re thankful for. They've even completed their very own Gratitude Journals – full of heartfelt thoughts and colourful reflections. It’s been wonderful to see them pause and appreciate the little things 💛.

⚡ Year 4/5 – Electric Safety Superstars

Y4/5 have been learning all about electrical safety and have designed informative posters to help us all stay safe. Keep your eyes peeled – their fantastic work will soon be brightening up our corridors! 🔌🛡

To wrap up our History topic on the Celts, children will be finishing their swords and shields 🗡🛡 and starting to create miniature Celtic homes and landscapes. These will form part of a beautiful end-of-unit display.

📍Important Trip Reminder!

On Thursday 15th May, students will be heading to King Edward Park for a Gratitude Scavenger Hunt 🌳🕵‍♂. They'll explore nature and reflect on what makes them feel thankful. All our subject teachers – from Arabic to Arts – will be joining to enrich the experience with their unique expertise.
