Dear Parents and Carers,

Have a read through this week's blast, filled with exciting activities and projects!

Year 1

This week, Year 1 have been little mathematicians, developing their understanding of money by adding different coins to make different values all on their own! 💷🪙✨

They also got super creative in English, writing their own poems and exploring rhyming pairs! ✍🎨

In History, they travelled back in time and explored Whitechapel—how it looked centuries ago and how it has changed today. 🏘⏳

Year 2/3

Year 2 and 3 blasted off into the universe for World Space Day! 🚀🪐 They learned fascinating facts about planets, stars, and astronauts, and asked some absolutely brilliant questions about the universe. ✨🌌

In Science, we investigated light and energy—discovering how light travels, how shadows are formed, and why the Sun is so important. ☀🔦

In Art and History, we delved into the dramatic events of the Great Fire of London—learning how it started, how it spread, and how London changed forever. 🔥🏙

The children created some stunning fiery skyline artwork inspired by the events of 1666. 🎨

Year 4/5

It’s been a buzzing week in Year 4/5! ⚡🔌 We’ve been learning all about electricity and completing circuits—soon we’ll be making even more complex circuits and experimenting with different setups! 💡🔋

In Art, we’ve been raising awareness around sustainability through powerful and thoughtful artwork. ♻🌍

In Technology, our exciting new project is underway: building a mini city out of wooden sticks! 🏗✨ We can’t wait to see it grow—last term’s green cities project turned out fantastic! 🌿🏙

To celebrate World Space Day, we explored the animals who went to space and the reasons behind their journeys. 🐵🐶🚀

In English, we discussed the science and ethics behind it, and in Verbal Reasoning, children designed their own space-themed board games using their amazing puzzle-solving skills for a challenging twist! 🎲🧩
